Frequently Asked Questions

Why was my bank account frozen?
Your account may have been frozen due to a cybercrime investigation, suspicious transaction patterns, a complaint registered on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal, or funds received from a suspected fraudulent source.
What documents do I need to submit?
You need: a valid identity proof (Aadhaar/PAN/Passport/Driving License), bank statement showing flagged transactions, explanation of your business/employment, and a Police NOC if available.
How long does the review process take?
Review timelines vary. Simple cases may resolve within 7–15 working days. Complex cases may take longer based on investigation requirements.
Is there any fee for this service?
No. This portal is completely free. If anyone demands payment for account defreeze, immediately report them to Cyber Helpline 1930.
What is OTP verification and why is it required?
OTP (One Time Password) is sent to your registered mobile to verify identity. It ensures only you can submit or access your complaint details, protecting your privacy.
What happens after I submit my request?
You receive a unique Complaint ID and your case is reviewed by authorized officers. Track status anytime using your Complaint ID. Updates are sent to your mobile and email.
What if I do not have a Police NOC?
A Police NOC is not mandatory but recommended as it speeds up the review process significantly. You can still submit your request without it.
